Pete Hegseth was sworn in to lead the Defense Department under the Trump administration Saturday morning after weeks of turmoil over allegations of sexual misconduct and an alleged past drinking problem. The event comes after Vice President Vance offered a tie-breaking vote Friday, giving Hegseth the votes needed to secure nomination. President Trump offered his congratulations Friday, after the vote. "Congratulations to Pete Hegseth. He will make a great Secretary of Defense!" he wrote on Truth Social.
