While it is a cold start to our Saturday with temperatures in the lower 20s, those looking for warmer temperatures will get their wish today. Although there will be an occasional patch of sunshine for the day, skies will be mostly cloudy overall. There is also a slight chance of a snow shower today as a weakening system passes. Accumulation, if any, will be a minimal coating at best. The good news is that the southwesterly winds the system brings in will rise our temperatures into the mid-30s for high temperatures. While it is winter coat weather still, it is certainly warmer than the past few days. Wind chills range from the teens to lower 20s today. Temps will increase into the 20s during the early morning. Another system looks to move through early overnight, bringing a slight chance for a scattered snow shower. Similar to our daytime, only a light coating is expected at best. This will be along a cold front which brings colder temperatures for out Sunday, but nothing Artic-like. Wind chills dip down into the single digits with more gusts up to 25 mph. Lows around 20. There is a slight chance for a snow shower tonight as a cold front pushes through. We will see just a coating for the few who see them. Highs reach the mid-to-upper 20s on Sunday with decreasing clouds, becoming partly cloudy in the afternoon. And while our Sunday is colder, it does not last for long, as we get back into the 30s on Monday and mostly sunny skies! The biggest trend to note are the gusty winds we'll be experiencing through this weekend and the upcoming week. This will be due to a pressure gradient we'll be under. With high pressure to our south and low pressure to our north, the pressure changes rapidly over a distance, which increases our wind speeds. We could see gusts up to 25 mph today, up to 35 mph on Sunday, and even gustier on Monday, up to 40 mph. Increasing wind gusts through the next three days. The upcoming week provides a much better experience than last week's. Highs will be above freezing for most of our days, and even reaching the 40s to start the first day of February, which is next Saturday. For Sunday, Groundhog Day highs remain in the 40s. The biggest question on this day... will the groundhog see its shadow? Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of some scattered snow showers.
