FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Experience a flurry of winter activities in and outdoors throughout the city with Winterval on Saturday. Neil Miller, Supervisor of Outreach with the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department, or FWPR, said his department aims to break people out of their cabin fever. "Just because it's cold, just because it's a little snowy, doesn't mean you have to stay inside." "[FWPR] has an interest in getting people to come out and enjoy themselves and get together, and that's what Winterval is all about." Mixes of chilly and cozy activities can be found at local organizations, including the Allen County Public Library, Science Central and Promenade Park. New this year, people can pick up pickleball with McMillien Park Community Center's Learn-to-Play and Family Day. Seasoned players will help newer players. Balls included, but paddles are not.
