AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin FC continues to stay extremely busy adding to the roster with the regular season less than a month away. The latest move brings about a club-record transfer for another Designated Player.
Myrto Uzuni comes to the Verde and Black via Granada CF in Spain's LaLiga2. The 29-year-old plays both center forward and winger.

In his three seasons with Granada, the Albania native tallied 49 goals in 106 matches. He has also played for the Albanian Men's national team, scoring five goals for that group.
“I can tell Austin fans that I will do everything in my power to score goals and help the team push toward achieving our objectives. I’m coming here to break records,” Uzuni said.
The contract for Uzuni is a three-year Designated Player deal through the end of 2027 with an option for 2028.
"Myrto has shown himself to be a prolific goalscorer in every team and league where he has previously played. His high work rate during games, finishing ability, ambition, determination, and versatility to be able to play both centrally and in the wide areas will all be big assets," Sporting Director Rodolfo Borrell said in a media release.
Austin FC opens the regular season Feb. 22, hosting Sporting Kansas City at Q2 Stadium.
