Fire crews respond to vegetation fire along Mt. Soledad Freeway

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded to a vegetation fire along State Route 52 in University City at the North Clairemont border Friday morning, the department announced. The blaze was first reported at 6:33 a.m.
According to an incident map provided by SDFD, the impacted area was located in the area of westbound Mt. Soledad Freeway (SR-52) before the Genesee Avenue exit.

School closures announced amid Red Flag Warning, Border 2 Fire
SDFD noted in an incident report that 46 personnel had been assigned to the vegetation fire. The department also thanked the City of Poway for their assistance.
At 7:40 a.m., Caltrans San Diego announced the closure of the eastbound SR-52 connector to southbound Interstate 805 due to the fire.

That connector road has since reopened and the fire has been put out.
No injuries were reported and no evacuation orders were made in connection to this incident. No further information was immediately provided.
