SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- After several major fires erupted in Los Angeles earlier this month, the 2025 Genesis Invitational scheduled for next month has been moved to Torrey Pines Golf Course, the PGA Tour confirmed in a social media post Friday morning.
The Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods and his foundation, was originally scheduled to take place at The Riviera Country Club, located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles from Feb. 13 to 16.

The search for a new venue began after a series of devastating wildfires emerged across Los Angeles County, including the Pacific Palisades.
The news was announced after a number of reports stated San Diego was one of the cities in the shortlist to host the tournament.
In a news release Friday, the city of San Diego said the PGA Tour ultimately chose Torrey Pines due to its "time-tested ability to host major golf tournaments, its reputation as a challenging golf course for the world's best players" as well as its proximity to the original host venue.
"It was an honor for the city of San Diego to raise our collective hand when given the opportunity to help our neighbors in Los Angeles as they recover from the ongoing devastating wildfires," said San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria. "We look forward to welcoming the Genesis Invitational in February and offer our full support to the PGA Tour."
In addition to the change in venue, the PGA Tour also confirmed the new dates of play will be from Feb. 10 to 16.
It will be the second PGA Tour event to take place at Torrey Pines within a month, following the conclusion of the Farmers Insurance Open this weekend.
However, the Genesis Invitational will only be on the South Course, according to the PGA Tour, while the Farmers Insurance Open uses both the North and South courses for tournament play.
The city said it will only have three weeks in between to prepare the course for the next large-scale tournament. The event is slated to include 72 of the best players on the PGA Tour.
