LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Officers from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office were among nearly 4,000 law enforcement on duty in Washington, D.C. for the inauguration of Donald Trump on Monday.
In a news release from the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office sent to 22News, 10 officers joined the Presidential Inaugural Task Force as part of the massive security effort. The team arrived on Saturday to participate in a briefing and training session. They were then sworn in and deputized under the U.S. Marshal Service.
While inaugurations are traditionally held on the Capitol steps with onlookers spread across the National Mall, severe cold forced the ceremonies inside the building this year.
