Convicted rapist arrested 35 years later in Ware

WARE, Mass. (WWLP) - A man who was convicted of rape in 1989 was arrested in Ware on harassment charges Thursday.
In a statement from the Ware Police Department, 66-year-old Ronald Ballard was arrested and charged with stalking and two counts of criminal harassment. He is being held on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown.

According to the Sex Offender Registry Board, Ballard is classified as a Level 3, someone who is most likely to re-offend. He resides at 183 Church Street in Ware and has 7 convictions of rape.
