SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Officials are investigating a fire that likely resulted in a man's death in West Savannah. Shortly after 9 p.m. on Thursday, Savannah police and fire and EMS responded to a fire in a vacant building in the 200 block of Millen Street. One man was found inside the building and though life-saving measures were taken, he died on the scene due to his injuries. Fire chief shot, killed after stopping to help driver who struck a deer in Alabama An arson investigator and homicide detectives were called to the scene, the Savannah Fire Department said. A preliminary investigation showed no obvious signs of trauma or foul play, SFD added. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
