BRISTOL, R.I. (WPRI) — Roger Williams University (RWU) President Ioannis Miaoulis will be taking a temporary medical leave of absence, the university announced on Friday. A spokesperson for RWU said Miaoulis' leave is to "focus on his health, following a recent illness." The university's Board of Trustees chair Heather Boujoulian is serving as acting president during Miaoulis' absence. "Our well wishes are with Yannis, and we are wishing him a speedy recovery," Boujoulian said. "The university is fortunate to have a strong leadership team in place, and I have every confidence that together we can ensure smooth operations during Yannis's temporary absence."
