Jan 24, 2025
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - The Norfolk Tides announced its 2025 Field Staff on Friday, including Tim Federowicz as their new manager, the 29th manager in Triple-A franchise history.
Federowicz is set to replace Buck Britton, who was manager from 2022 to 2024 and will be the Tide's 16th ever manager. He will be the sixth manager in the Orioles affiliate franchise history, established in 2007.
According to a release, Federowicz, 37, has played professionally in 13 seasons, from 2008 to 2021, primarily as a catcher. After retiring in 2021, he started his Triple-A managerial career with the Tacoma Rainiers in the Pacific Coast Leage 2022. Since then, he has also served as catching coach in Detroit and then manager of the Toleda Mud Hens in the International League in 2023.
In just two seasons of being a Triple-A manager, Federowicz has a 141-158 record, and is set to enter his 300th career game with the Tides on March 28 against Durham.
In addition to Federowicz, Justin Ramsey will return as Pitching Coach for his fourth season with the Tides, and Mike Montville will return as Hitting Coach for his second season. Head Athletic Trainer Alan Rail and Assistant Athletic Trainer Seth Ellanson will also return, as well as Norfolk's Clubhouse Manager Adam Sehlmeyer.
New Field staff for the Tides includes Fundamentals Coach Felipe Rojas, Development Coach Billy Facteau and Strength and Conditional Coach Sam Sauer.
