Video above: US troops arrive in El Paso EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The U.S. Department of Defense, along with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), deported 80 Guatemalan migrants on Friday morning, Jan. 24, from Biggs Army Airfield at Fort Bliss, U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas said in a post on X. Gonzales said the 23rd District of Texas has been "ground zero for the border crisis and will be ground zero for deportation operations. In four days President Trump has done more to protect our country than Biden did in four years." White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also shared on X Friday morning that deportation fights have begun and President Trump is "sending a strong and clear message to the entire world: if you illegally enter the United States of America, you will face severe consequences." Active-duty military troops arrived in El Paso on Thursday evening, Jan. 23, as part of the Trump Administration's attempt to secure the southern border.
