EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Dave's Hot Chicken, a Los Angeles, California-based chain, has popped up in the Borderland, with its newest addition in West El Paso. Dave’s Hot Chicken to open in West El Paso Dave's Hot Chicken opened its new Westside location on Friday, Jan. 24, at 7729 Paseo del Norte Blvd. El Paso’s other Dave’s Hot Chicken is located at 12261 Eastlake Blvd. in far East El Paso. With two locations in the Borderland, it's clear that the franchise is making its way into the corners of the city, but for those who haven't heard or tried the restaurant's spicy signature food, they might be asking themselves, what's so hot about Dave's Hot Chicken? Well for starters, the atmosphere the chain brings is truly one of a kind, as the walls are painted with colorful and modern graffiti art that tells the brand's story. The interior is quite compact, but the seating area is organized in a way that gives the restaurant a spacious look. The chain also includes an outdoor seating area. The customer service also deserves an A+ as everyone is friendly and willing to lend a helping hand, but this story would be pointless if we didn't talk about the food. Dave's Hot Chicken is famously known for....well... hot chicken. The chain offers chicken tenders combos and slider combos, which is basically a chicken tender sandwich with coleslaw and cheese. The combos include a side of seasoned fries, dipping sauce, and pickles. The only thing that I thought was odd, is that the drink is separate, so you would be buying the combo which comes with the fries, and adding a drink. When ordering, you can choose a spice level that is best for you. I personally chose the "hot" spice level and I can definitely say it's HOT. Also, if you're someone who is looking for a challenge, I suggest getting the Reaper level, but only if you're comfortable with signing a waiver. Yes, a waiver! Aside from the signature hot chicken, the chain offers sides such as the popular mac and cheese. Top-loaded shakes and regular shakes are also available along with slushies. So, what's so hot about Dave's Hot Chicken? Seemingly everything, from the atmosphere to the customer service, to the signature spicy food, it guarantees an enjoyable lunch or dinner.
