Cafe Momentum Plus, a Valentine’s tea service for lovers and friends and a chance to help the unhoused at a local coffee chain Cafe Momentum, a Dallas restaurant and coffee shop that doubles as a nonprofit that teaches at-risk youth culinary skills, is expanding its mission with a new flagship “learning location.” Located in the Wilson Historic District (3001 Greenwood Street) in Old East Dallas — not far from the Cafe’s Downtown location, the new hub is expected to “provide interns with expanded resources, including mental health services, educational support, and workforce training,” according to a press release. Dallas nonprofit Meadows Foundation, which provides grants to aid initiatives in education, environment, homelessness, and mental health, donated the land for the property. The new campus aims to become a national hub and model for youth justice reform, furthering Cafe Momentum’s mission to provide job training to formerly incarcerated youths. It is expected to open in the first quarter of 2026. Tea is for lovers If you missed hitting up one of the many holiday tea services that are wildly popular around DFW, there’s still a chance. Hotel Crescent Court is hosting a Love + Rosé afternoon tea time for Valentine’s Day — to celebrate love or friendship, whatever you’ve got. Served in the picturesque Great Hall, this tea session includes Dammann Frères teas, which are fancy as all get out. The kettle is on every weekend in February, with multiple daily seatings. Reservations are required and cost $50 for kids, $120 for grown-ups, and $160 for the endless Champagne option, which is a yes, please. Spread the love and grab a coffee White Rhino Coffee is participating in a “Love Notes” campaign encouraging people to write postcards to unhoused people. Nonprofit OurCalling will distribute the cards. To keep hearts and minds on that idea, the coffee shop will also offer a Love Notes Latte now through Wednesday, February 26. The special-edition coffee is a chocolate strawberry latte, which pairs well with the vegan strawberry guava Pop Tart, also a limited menu item.
