Warming centers opening amid freezing temperatures

CHARLESTON, S.C (WCBD) - Temperatures are forecasted to drop below freezing Friday night, prompting many warming centers to open their doors.
People without adequate heat and those experiencing homelessness can seek shelter at the following warming centers:
Charleston
Charleston County Sheriff's Administration Building (3831 Leeds Ave)
The general population and pet shelter will be open Friday night from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Expected closure on Saturday at 6 a.m.
Mount Pleasant
Hibben Hospitality Shelter (690 Coleman Blvd.)
Hibben Hospitality Shelter will be open on Friday from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

North Charleston
Seacoast Dream Center (5505 N. Rhett Ave.)
The Seacoast Dream Center will open at 7 pm. on Friday and close at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
Holy City Missions (1444 Remount Rd)
Holy City Missions will open its warming center on Friday and Saturday
Registration will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the shelter will close at 7 a.m. the following morning
Pets are not permitted
Can only accommodate 75 people. Operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Summerville
Seacoast Church Summerville Warming Center (301 E. 5th N. Street)
Seacoast Warming Center will be open from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
Currently at maximum capacity. Contact 843-486-0193 and choose the Warming Center option for questions about the center.
Walterboro
Walterboro Warming Center (907 Wichman Street)
Walterboro Warming Center will be open through Sunday morning (1/26) from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day
Currently not accommodating pets
Men, women, and families are welcome

Williamsburg County
Williamsburg Recovery Center (2086 Thurgood Marshall Hwy)
Since January 20, the center will remain open until further notice from 7 p.m. – 8 a.m.
Goose Creek
Goose Creek United Methodist Church (142 Red Bank Rd)
Goose Creek United Methodist will be open on Friday and Saturday night.
Guests can stay from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.
