BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First News) - A historic snowstorm passed through the Baton Rouge area and left lasting memories. Area roads have been cleared off and residents may have trash and recycling that needs to be picked up after a lengthy stay at home.
Below is a list containing the latest information on when and where trash and recycling will be picked up in and around the Baton Rouge area.
Waste Management said they will "resume all garbage and trash collection in the Baton Rouge Metro area and surrounding parishes including West Feliciana, St. Helena, Livingston and Tangipahoa as well as St. James Parish, Town of Gramercy and Town of Lutcher on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025. Customers will be serviced on their next regularly scheduled collection day."
Waste Pro provided an update for East Feliciana Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, Denham Springs, Baker, and Gonzales residents.
East Baton Rouge Parish
Curbside garbage, recycling and out-of-cart collection has resumed in the parish. Further details can be found on this website.
City of Gonzales
The city is asking residents to put their cans out as trash collection "is scheduled to resume operations on Friday, Jan. 24th, pending that roads are safe and accessible."
City of Zachary
Waste Management is resuming garbage and trash collection in the city on Friday, Jan. 24.
Iberville Parish
Pelican Waste & Debris, LLC alerted residents that operations will resume in the parish on Friday, Jan. 24. They said, "we will run Tuesday’s routes on Friday and Wednesday’s routes on Saturday. Thursday and Friday routes will run on your next scheduled service days next week."
Pointe Coupee Parish
Pelican Waste & Debris, LLC said that operations will resume in the parish on Friday, Jan. 24. Routes will be run as regularly scheduled.
West Baton Rouge Parish
The parish said Waste Pro will be running their normal routes on Friday, Jan. 24.
