SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Springfield Thunderbirds have partnered with the Springfield Fire Department to raise money for the LA fires.  Springfield police cruiser hit by gunfire, suspects arrested following chase According to the Thunderbirds, they will be raising money during Hometown Heroes Night on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. They will be asking fans to "Fill the Boot." Fans will have the chance to contribute outside the MassMutual Center before the game, where fire trucks will there with the Garrison USA flag and inside the Thunderdome throughout the event. There will also be 50/50 raffle tickets sold. All funds will go to the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Foundation. They will ensure donations are distributed to fire departments that are battling these wildfires.  “We stand in solidarity with the people of Southern California enduring immense loss and hardship during this tragic time,” said Thunderbirds President Nathan Costa. “On Hometown Heroes Night, it is only fitting that we, alongside the Springfield Fire Department and IAFF Local 648, extend our support to the brave men and women of Los Angeles fire departments, who are tirelessly working to protect their communities under unimaginable conditions.” "Thank you to the Springfield Thunderbirds for all your support for First Responders," said Springfield Fire Department Commissioner Bernard J.
