INDIANAPOLIS – Police took a man into custody following a standoff on the east side of Indianapolis. The initial call came in around 11 p.m. Thursday from an apartment in the 5900 block of East 12th Street. A woman said a man was inside her apartment tearing things up. She requested help from police. Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers arrived and discovered the woman had a protective order against the man. Eventually, SWAT arrived and breached the apartment. The man quickly surrendered after that, with the situation resolved around 2 a.m. Friday. According to IMPD, no one was hurt. The incident remains under investigation.
