North Carolina man charged with woman's murder, police say

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting that took place in mid-January on Topeka Street.
Fayetteville police said Thursday that 19-year-old Elijah Lee was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

On January 13 at 7:55 a.m., officers said they responded to a 911 call of a reported shooting in the 700 block of Topeka Street. Once on the scene, investigators found a woman who was pronounced dead.
A woman is dead after a shooting on Topeka Street in Fayetteville.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Jylin Matute-Ayala.
Lee is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
