WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Elected officials got the chance to connect with the business community Thursday night in West Springfield. Many came together for the Springfield Regional Chamber government reception. The annual meeting took place at the Storrowton Carriage House. In attendance were state reps, senators, mayors, and city councilors. The Springfield Regional Chamber supports local businesses and non-profits throughout western Massachusetts. Their mission is to build connections and strengthen the lives of residents. Chris Thompson with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western Mass told 22News, "I think everyone here has an agenda, they all have one advocacy work on their behalf for their agency, they are looking to get some face time with some select elected officials." With over 200 people expected to attend, networking and discussion are what draws attraction to the event each year.
