Providence Police identify victim in stabbing homicide

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The providence Police Department released the name of the victim in a stabbing homicide that occurred on Jan. 20.
36-year-old Charles Chike Okafor was killed at a Bailey Court apartment.
The suspect, 30-year-old Junior Medina Agosto, was charged with one count of homicide and committing an act of violence while having a knife.
Officials said two witnesses told police that Okafor and Medina Agosto were arguing over food when a fight started.
All residents in the rooming house where the incident occurred share the kitchen.
It was the first homicide of the year in the city.
