Blount Fine Foods plans to move HQ to Rhode Island
Jan 23, 2025
FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — A Fall River seafood manufacturer is planning on moving its headquarters across state lines.
Rhode Island Commerce confirmed Thursday that Blount Fine Foods is preparing to relocate to the Ocean State.
Though its corporate headquarters has been in Massachusetts since 2004, Blount Fine Foods has roots in Rhode Island.
The fifth-generation, family-owned seafood manufacturer was first founded in the 1880s as an oyster harvesting farm in Barrington. It eventually moved to Warren, where its manufacturing facility remains to this day.
It's unclear exactly where Blount Fine Foods will be moving its headquarters to, but Rhode Island Commerce told 12 News its Investment Committee approved qualified job incentives for the business on Wednesday. Those qualified job incentives now head to Rhode Island Commerce's Board of Directors for consideration.
Blount Fine Foods is best known for its prepared meals, seafood and soups, which can be purchased at retailers and restaurants.
