Family and friends are still searching for 17-year-old Samantha Chun and 18-year-old Joey Fujioka. Loved ones had been camped out at Ke Iki Beach for nearly a week while they waited for any answers or clues about where Joey or Sammy's whereabouts. Roz Catracchia is close friends with Joey's parents and spent the day Thursday passing out fliers from Makaha to Diamond Head. "I printed out a bunch of these [fliers] and I take these wherever I go, and if I think there is someone I can hand them to, I do and I ask if people have any more information on these beautiful humans so people can keep their eyes out," she told KHON2. She said not much is known, the teens were last seen Friday night at a store in Mililani and went to the beach. Remains found at Oahu beach ʻnot of human originʻ: ME "It looks like they made a beautiful fire, it was a dark night, it is dark out there and the waves were big," she said. "We don't know if they went into the ocean but what we do know is they were supposed to come home that night and they didn't call, that's not like them, they didn't come home and the next morning his parents followed his phone," she explained. She said the car was found locked, and Joey's phone was inside the car. She said Joey's mother went to the beach and found the teens blanket including a wallet with money in it. "So it wasn't a robbery," Catracchia said. She said Samantha's phone was on the blanket and the kids were no where to be found. "Lifeguards, police, the fire department, they've been amazing, so many people on Ke Iki beach helping any way they could tirelessly, tirelessly," she said. "When it became sun set and the search was going to stop for the night, that was not a good time of day because you want them home now." She said Tuesday was a hard day for both families as they were told human remains had been found and the multi-agency search would be coming to an end. "I would describe the beach as thick with grief, and deep sadness of not knowing, the continued not knowing," she added. Search for missing teens on Oahu’s North Shore suspended She said they also grew up in Hawaii and know that if the waves are big not to go into the water, "they're smart kids, so that doesn't make sense, none of it makes sense, none of this makes sense," she added. She said the investigation continues which means they're still searching. The families are asking for any camera footage between Mililani before 10 p.m. and footage along Kamehameha Highway en route to Ke Iki Beach and near Ke Iki through 10:45 p.m. and later. "We're praying for double miracle that they're both going to come home and they'll be found," she added. "These are amazing, wonderful, good kids, we're asking for anything with signs, dash cam footage from anyone who might have caught something," she said. Detectives were seen canvassing nearby homes on Tuesday afternoon.
