Williston, N.D. (KXNET)- A man who was arrested after a violent encounter with police in Williston was found guilty in court. A jury in Williams County, this week, found Joshua Martinez guilty of two counts of attempted murder and two more counts of reckless endangerment.This comes after an incident in August of 2023 when police say Martinez slammed into a vehicle with two people inside.Police and sheriff's deputies then followed Martinez trying to get him to stop. They say Martinez then ran into an apartment building and shot at a Williston police officer and a Williams County sheriff's deputy.Martinez will now undergo a pre-sentence investigation. But he also has a separate trial for next month on charges of burglary and domestic violence.
