ROCKVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police said the man who hit multiple people with his SUV in Rockville in 2023 was arrested on Thursday. The Rockville City Police Department (RCPD) said 44-year-old Walter Giovanni Marquez-Aviles, of Gaithersburg, was arrested at around 10:15 a.m. in Hyattsville on Jan. 23. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Man wanted for hitting people with SUV near courthouse in Rockville He was wanted for striking multiple people with his SUV along 199 East Montgomery Ave. back on Dec. 14, 2023, and fleeing the scene. Investigators believe the incident was intentional. Since then, the Montgomery County Department of Police and the U.S. Marshal Service have helped RCPD try and find Marquez-Aviles. He is being charged with three counts of attempted murder and three counts of first-degree assault.
