Thousands of people impacted by latest power shutoffs

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- Thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers were impacted by the recent round of public safety power shutoffs Thursday afternoon.
As of 1 p.m., more than 30 communities had no power, affecting at least 19,000 customers.
Additionally, SDGE's outage map showed more than 64,000 customers were at risk of getting their power shut off.
San Diego Fire-Rescue provides update on fire season readiness
Several community resource centers are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the county to accommodate people without power due to the shutoffs. A list of centers can be found on the SDG&E website, below the outage map.
The communities that could still potentially be affected by the public safety power shutoffs include the Barona, Capitan Grande, Pechanga and Pala reservations, as well as Chula Vista, East San Juan Capistrano, Lakeside, Pauma Valley, Poway, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego, San Marcos and Santee.
The utility company was forced to cut off electricity to thousands of people due to yet another round of Santa Ana winds Thursday.
The National Weather Service issued a High Wind Warning for San Diego County's mountains and valleys from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., where simultaneously a Red Flag Warning has been extended until 10 a.m. Friday.
