(KRON) -- The Oakland Police Department is investigating after a person was found wounded by gunfire and later died at the hospital, according to authorities. Police responded at approximately 9 p.m. to the 4200 block of Bancroft Avenue on the report of multiple ShotSpotter activations. Arriving officers located a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound, OPD said. Bomb squad removes explosives from Pleasant Hill home Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said. The shooting remains under investigation.
