Inmate from Chatham Detention Center dies

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - An inmate from the Chatham County Detention Center died on Thursday, Sheriff Richard Coleman said in a statement. The inmate was transported to a hospital due to a medical condition. They died on Thursday, Jan. 23. Sheriff Coleman has requested for the GBI to conduct a follow-up investigation for transparency purposes, the statement said.
