Chipotle Mexican Grill, Starbucks open in Highland’s new Greenspot Crossings
Jan 23, 2025
Construction workers are grabbing lunch at Chipotle Mexican Grill and taking coffee breaks in Starbucks, the first two businesses to open in Highland’s new Greenspot Crossings.
The eateries, which opened late last week, are part of the first phase of the 22-acre shopping center off of the 210 Freeway. Most of it is still a hardhat zone.
On Thursday, Jan. 23, workers were installing a fence around what will be a patio in front of Chipotle, which is at 27876 Greenspot Road.
It is the chain’s first restaurant in the vicinity to feature a “Chipotlane,” which is like a drive-thru but is dedicated to pickup of mobile orders, not taking orders.
The restaurant’s application to sell beer and wine is pending.
Greenspot Crossings will be anchored by a 46,000-square foot Stater Bros. supermarket, which the San Bernardino-based grocery chain hopes to open by July 4, according to representatives. The new store will replace a market at 3633 Highland Ave. that opened in 1979.
Other tenants will include Dave’s Hot Chicken, which is in the works next to Chipotle, and Ono Hawaiian BBQ, which will be in the parking lot between Chipotle and Starbucks, which is at 27812 Greenspot Road. Construction hasn’t begun yet.
Greenspot Crossings mirrors Highland Crossings, the shopping center on the south side of Greenspot Road anchored by Lowe’s Home Improvement.
Costco Wholesale is nearing completion to the east of Greenspot Crossings. It is part of a separate mixed-use development, Greenspot Village and Marketplace, which includes 200 townhomes. Workers used helicopters to deliver the 160,951 square-foot building’s HVAC system last week, according to the city’s newsletter.
Costco is expected to open March 8, according to city representatives.
