RI unemployment rate holds steady for 4th straight month

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — December marked the fourth month that Rhode Island's unemployment rate didn't change, according to the R.I. Department of Labor and Training (DLT).
Data from the DLT showed the state's unemployment rate remained at 4.6%. The last time a change happened was from July to August, when the rate increased by 0.1%.
Rhode Island's unemployment rate is still higher than the national rate of 4.1%.
The DLT also reported that the state lost 400 jobs.
Approximately 560,800 Rhode Islanders were employed, a decrease of 800 compared to November.
