TIVERTON, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire that broke out in a Tiverton home Thursday afternoon. Tiverton Fire Chief William Bailey said firefighters were called to the Nanquaket Road home around 2:30 p.m. "Initial reports were that the roof was on fire," Bailey explained. "We had a very active fire in the attic." Bailey said firefighters were able to knock down the flames within an hour. "We were able to save the house," Bailey said.
