WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) — The embattled director of the Warwick Water Division has resigned amid ongoing federal lawsuits involving two of his former employees, 12 News has confirmed.
Terry DiPetrillo, who had been on paid sick leave for more than six months, retired this month, according to Warwick spokesperson Liz Tufts.
DiPetrillo is at the center of two federal lawsuits containing allegations that he sexually harassed, discriminated and retaliated against two former subordinates.
One former employee, Bree Boulais, alleged DiPetrillo and other men in the office repeatedly sexually harassed her. Another employee, Peter Broomfield, said DiPetrillo slapped him in the face as part of a punchline to a "Nazi joke," among other allegations.
