Facebook photo This story by John Lippman was first published in the Valley News on Jan. 22QUECHEE — The person who died after being transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head on Sunday was a 21-year-old man, Hartford Police Chief Greg Sheldon said on Wednesday.But exactly what occurred that led to the Sunday afternoon shooting at a residence on Fairbanks Turn in Quechee remains unclear as police have released few details about the incident.Meanwhile, autopsy results of the deceased man conducted by the New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord remain “currently undetermined, pending further investigation,” Hartford police said in a Wednesday news release.Earlier, on Monday, police reported “preliminary investigations” indicated that “all parties involved were known to one another” and that “the incident is believed to be isolated.”In the Wednesday update, Hartford police disclosed that the Vermont State Police and the Hartford Police Department had executed a search warrant at 235 Fairbanks Turn on Sunday, indicating for the first time the incident was being investigated as a potential criminal matter.“Investigators are diligently working to process evidence and speak with the people involved,” the updated news release said.Hartford police request that any residents in the area of Fairbanks Turn, Hillside Road or Quechee Main Street “with any type of video surveillance footage” or other information related to this case contact them at 802-295-9425.Read the story on VTDigger here: Police: Investigation continues into Quechee shooting of 21-year-old man.
