INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Fire Department worked to extinguish a vacant structure fire that slightly injured a firefighter and threatened a next-door restaurant on Thursday.
According to IFD, crews were called around 1:56 a.m. to a vacant structure at Washington St. and N Tremont St. Next door was a Mexican restaurant called Lala's Cafe, which IFD said was threatened by the smoke billowing from the residence.

While the fire was reportedly under control in 15 minutes amid "...freezing temps and icy conditions", IFD said one firefighter sustained "slight injuries". The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
