INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Add two more treats to the list of odd flavor combinations hitting store shelves soon. Oreos (feat. Post Malone) The first pairing comes from the adventurous team at Oreo. The famed chocolate-and-vanilla crème cookie brand has leaned into quirky editions in recent years, offering dozens of alternative flavors in everything from Swedish Fish to Coca-Cola. The treat now is rolling out what’s known in the popular music would as ‘collab’ – and it’s with a man famed for them. The treats are one of the more complex in the Limited Edition lineup, with a first-ever swirled crème, combining salted caramel and shortbread flavors. A chocolate cookie and a golden cookie featuring Malone-chosen designs complete the sandwich. To promote the release, the company quotes the popular singer saying, “Can’t believe they let me make my own OREO cookie. So happy everyone gets to try the taste twist — hope you love it as much as I do, ’cause I think it’s the best OREO ever!” The cookie rollout is taking clear cues from the music business, beginning with a ‘presale’ of packs on Jan. 27, with ‘early access’ underway now.Retailers will then start selling them nationwide starting February 3rd. Malone’s has some strong, permanent links to Indiana: an artist from Greenwood has inked some of the performer’s most visible tattoos. Breakfast for Dessert The second pairing coming to grocery stores will end up in the freezer section, though it sounds at first like it should be with the cereal and pancake mix. Blue Bell Strawberry Toaster Pastry Ice Cream (Image from Blue Bell) Blue Bell is rolling out pints of ‘Strawberry Toaster Pastry Ice Cream’. Sales start Thursday in the states where the brand is sold. Company spokesperson Joe Robertson describes the flavor: “The smooth vanilla ice cream and strawberry sauce complement the pastry pieces perfectly. The confetti pieces and icing swirl add a subtle sweetness to every bite.” Sales start today, January 23rd, in the states (including Indiana) where the brand is sold.
