GM Under Federal Investigation Involving Nearly 900,000 Vehicles
Jan 23, 2025
NATIONWIDE, (WOWO) — NHTSA has launched an investigation into numerous complaints of catastrophic engine failure in over 877-thousand vehicles equipped with the company’s 6-point-two liter V-8 engine.
The vehicles involved were manufactured between 2019 and 2024 and include full-size pickup trucks and SUV’s from Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac.
Officials say complaints report that a bearing failure can result in the engine seizing or the block being breached by a connecting rod, and that it can all happen without any warning.
As of now, vehicles equipped with the 5-point-3 liter V-8 are not included.
