Deputies: Lenoir Woman Charged With Trafficking Fentanyl

NEWTON N.C. – A Lenoir woman was arrested on several drug trafficking charges by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Thursday, January 23rd.
Deputies say they stopped a vehicle traveling on I-40 that occupied an alleged drug dealer.
During the stop, a K9 alerted to the precense of narcotics inside the vehicle, deputies say.
According to a news release, investigators located and seized a half pound of fentanyl, $429, and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle.
Candice Wright, 29, was arrested and charged with the following:
trafficking in fentanyl by possession
trafficking in fentanyl by transportation
felony maintaining a vehicle for the purpose of possessing, manufacturing, distributing controlled substances,
possession with intent to manufacture sell or deliver controlled substances
possession of drug paraphernalia.
Wright, a Lenoir resident, is being held under no bond and a has a first appearance in Catawba County District Court on 01/24/2025.
