BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Bakersfield city officials are hosting an event in historic Old Town Kern as part of a multi-day community workshop and seeks your input for the Old Town Kern Vision Plan. Community members stopped by the La Mariposa Venue on Sumner Street Thursday morning for presentations from community leaders and to share ideas with the project's design team. High Wind Warning continues in Southern California, warm temps around the Valley "It's important to not only cast a vision, but also to generate that hope, and generate that optimism within the community so that it can spur future development and investment. And so that's what we're trying to do in part here today, is really try to take a look at what opportunities really exist," Ward 2 Councilmember Andrae Gonzales said. Never miss a story: Make KGET.com your homepage City officials will also be hosting an open house at RAM Gallery, on Kentucky St. beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday to provide feedback on initial plans and have an open discussion with the design team.
