A New Jersey man was arrested this week after making a bomb threat at a local airport and engaging in a standoff with law enforcement, state police said Thursday. Long Pham, 38, of Egg Harbor Township, was taken into custody Wednesday morning after allegedly making a threat toward Atlantic City International Airport. The bomb threat was made on Jan. 10 but police found no explosives. Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Pham’s arrest and he was tracked down by a multi-agency task force this week. Upon police locating Pham, he barricaded himself inside a home, leading to shelter-in-place orders and at least one evacuation at nearby schools, before he surrendered to police following a negotiation. Pham remained in custody Thursday on charges of creating false public alarm and making terroristic threats. It’s unclear when he’s scheduled to appear in court. A similar threat was made at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City in July 2024, leading to a large police response but no suspicious persons or threats discovered.
