Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) had an altercation with a reporter Wednesday noting Americans are “sick and f‑‑‑ing tired” of talking about Jan. 6, 2021. Punchbowl News reporter Melanie Zanona appeared to ask Greene a question about the invitation extended by her conservative colleague Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) to give guided tours of Congress to rioters who were pardoned by President Trump on Monday. Greene questioned the reporter if she was going to talk about former President Biden extending pardons to his family members just minutes before the transition of power. “This insane place up here and all of y’all’s obsession with Jan. 6 is absurd,” the Georgia Republican said. “Everybody outside of here is sick and f‑‑‑ing tired of it. I’m serious.” She continued, harping on Biden’s pardons of “murderers and rapists and disgusting people,” arguing that some people have their “panties in a wad” because rioters who stormed the Capitol were pardoned. The congressional reporter pushed back, noting that Greene has been an active supporter of Jan. 6 rioters receiving justice and her question was related to Boebert’s vow to provide tours of the Capitol grounds. Zanona also highlighted Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) forming a committee to investigate the riot and the previous select committee probing the attack. “I’m so sick of you people and this crap. I really am,” Greene replied. She later added that reporters never gave her a “fair shot” and made assumptions about her time in the House. “Why don’t you do a story on what people care about? People care about the border, the economy, energy. They’re sick and tired of the foreign wars. They’re tired of the hypocrisy up here, and they hate the media right now,” Greene said. Greene posted the clip to her social platform X account and said she is “fed up” with the Washington, D.C., media. “Your assumptions are ignorant and you are absolutely disconnected and clueless about what is important in life and to Americans. You have destroyed your credibility,” she wrote. “With social media like X, you can’t lie about me anymore.” The Hill has reached out to Zanona for comment.
