Bomb squad removes explosives from Pleasant Hill home

(KRON) -- A bomb squad responded to a Pleasant Hill residence on Wednesday after a person reported finding explosives, according to the Pleasant Hill Police Department.
Authorities were called at 1:27 p.m. to a home on the 1700 block of Shirley Drive. A person notified police that they found antique unexploded military ordnance inside a box, Pleasant Hill PD said.
Multiple agencies arrived on the scene, including the Walnut Creek Police Department, Contra Costa Fire Protection District and the U.S. Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team from Travis Air Force Base.
Police said there was no active criminal investigation regarding the discovery.
The bomb squad safely removed all explosives from the residence by 6 p.m.
