MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A man has now been arrested after police say he was involved in a fight that led to a shootout in Frayser three months ago. Daequan Walls, 20, is facing eight criminal attempt first-degree murder charges along with employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony. ORIGINAL STORY: Two juveniles, one adult shot in Frayser Daequan Walls (SCSO) On November 2, 2024, officers responded to an aggravated assault call at a home in the 3200 block of Ardmore Street around 1:40 p.m. A woman told police that her grandson had been fighting with several of their neighbors in the front yard. After the fight, she says two of the men involved in the fight left and returned with guns. That is when she says they opened fire on her home with eight people inside. Police say during that time, the grandson picked up his own gun and shot back. The police were called after the suspects left. Warrant issued for man charged with 8 counts of attempted murder The victim says before police arrived, the two suspects' brother Daequan Walls pulled in front of their house in a gray Mazda and started shooting her house. He then left the scene. On November 4, 2024, the victim was able to positively identify Daequan in a photo lineup as the person who shot multiple times into her home. A warrant was then issued for his arrest. Jeremiah Walls, 22, and a 14-year-old were also arrested in the case. They are both initially charged with eight counts of aggravated assault. But Jeremiah is now charged with two counts of aggravated assault and six counts of reckless endangerment. Jeremiah Walls (MPD) Daequan Walls is held in jail on a $250,000 bond. He is due in court on Friday morning.
