INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was taken to an area hospital after being shot multiple times inside a near northeast side home Thursday morning. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched around 2:45 a.m. to the 2900 block of North Olney Street for a reported shooting. Officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and provided emergency medical aid until medics arrived. He was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. Officers said the shooting took place inside the residence. They believed the suspect fled to a nearby home. However, they were unable to find him after obtaining a search warrant. As for the circumstances surrounding the shooting, investigators were unable to talk to the victim due to the extent of his injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
