Why Amari Cooper is satisfied with just two postseason catches

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WROC) - Amari Cooper has only had two playoff catches with the Bills. In fact, he's only had two games in Buffalo with more than three targets.
Cooper is satisfied with those numbers, though, as the numbers aren't his goal.
"Every receiver wants to have 10, 20 catches in a game. But that's not always how the cookie crumbles. It's not always the most beneficial thing for the team, force feeding one guy the ball just for the sake of that," Cooper said. "Winning is obviously way more important. There's many ways to win, I've had it every other way and haven't really reached the pinnacle of this sport how I would have liked."
Cooper has never been this far in the playoffs in his 10 year career, and it's made him realize something about the Bills that's different than his other teams.
"The team doesn't really need you, you have so many other players that are doing their job that they can get the job done without you," he said. "That's kind of where the ego dies and pride is put aside for the sake of the team. When everybody is doing their job, that's how you win a championship. When you get this far, you can taste it. This is what you dream of. I've had tremendous years in the league, pro bowls and all of those things, but none of them will amount to winning that last game."
Cooper plays a lot of chess outside of football, and there's a saying he's been thinking about this week.
"Don't play to win the game. Don't play to lose the game. Don't play to draw the game," he said. "Just play chess."
The saying is shaping a lot of how Cooper is handling his nerves ahead of the AFC Championship.
"You can't be afraid to lose, you just have to go out there and play football," he said. "The rest will fall into place."
