FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A woman is in critical condition and a man is injured after being hit by a suspected DUI driver while crossing an intersection in Fresno, the Fresno Police Department said. Officers say they responded to the area of Hamilton and Chestnut avenues around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday regarding a traffic collision. Detectives say the driver of a vehicle was traveling northbound on Chestnut. The couple was crossing the street when the driver collided with them. The man had minor injuries, but the woman is in critical condition. According to investigators, the driver of the vehicle is a Hispanic man approximately 60 years old. He was arrested under suspicion of DUI.
