POOLER, Ga (WSAV) -- The city of Pooler woke up to a winter wonderland, causing roadways to become very difficult to traverse.
News 3 was told the city will continue to work hard to ensure residents and roadways are safe.
WSAV was told by Pooler city leaders that critical workforce and public safety have been hard at work inspecting roadways.
"We are receiving regular updates about roadway conditions and our public safety teams are fully prepared to respond as needed," Pooler Mayor Karen Williams in a statement on Wednesday. "I am very proud of our proactive efforts prior to the storm. A huge thank you also goes to our partners at GDOT for their assistance in addressing the roadways in our area. It’s a great example of teamwork during challenging times. We are thankful to report minimal power outages and minimal overall accidents in our city. However, we urge everyone to continue to stay home and only travel if absolutely necessary. I want to reassure our citizens that we still have sand and salt ready to help address our roadways as conditions evolve."
