According to court documents, officers with the Muncie Police Department responded at 11:46 a.m. on Oct. 8, 2024, to 18th Street and Madison Street after receiving reports that a serious personal injury accident with possible entrapment had occurred in the area.
Officers arrived and soon determined that Drummer had fled the scene. He was later brought back for questioning, according to court documents.
As part of their investigation, police spoke to witnesses who described seeing Drummer drive by at a very high rate of speed while reportedly weaving in and out of traffic. This culminated in Drummer allegedly ignoring a red light at the intersection of 18th Street and Madison Street.
Drummer's vehicle is then alleged to have crashed into a Volkswagen that was being operated by Meisa Cope. Court documents said Cope was transported to IU Ball Memorial Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Court documents show Drummer was allegedly driving a vehicle belonging to a woman he is accused of assaulting at an apartment earlier that same morning. The 14-year-old is alleged to have hit and stomped on the woman multiple times before strangling her until she lost consciousness.
Drummer is also accused of attempting to sexually assault the victim while she was unconscious before stealing her vehicle. Drummer had reportedly been staying at the victim's apartment before these events unfolded.
Court documents said the victim regained consciousness and went outside to her vehicle to call for assistance before realizing it had been taken. The victim then visited a neighbor to request help.
A subsequent medical checkup confirmed the victim had sustained multiple broken ribs, a broken sternum, a collapsed lung, multiple bruises, scratches and abrasions.
Drummer did not have a driver's license or a learner's permit since he was 14 years old at the time of his alleged involvement in the fatal crash. Court documents said Drummer also picked up an 18-year-old female and a juvenile female after allegedly assaulting the victim and stealing her car.
As part of the evidence the State presented to waive Drummer's juvenile jurisdiction and be charged as an adult, court documents show investigators conducted a forensic extraction of data from Drummer's personal cell phone.
"In the week or so prior to October 8th, Cameron visited approximately 172 websites. Over fifty of those visits referenced sex and/or violence against females. Twelve of those sites referenced shaking and strangulation," court documents said.
Many of these referenced "taken-advantage of videos," "female prisoners restrained and punished," "Girl humiliated and beaten" and other related content.
He also allegedly searched for answers to the following questions:
"How long does it take for you to be choked (sic) out to forget"
"If you choke someone do they die or pass out"
"Can you pass out if you get hit in the chest too hard"
Court documents stated that Drummer allegedly appeared in online videos "displaying guns and significant amounts of cash."
Drummer was arrested and transported to the Delaware County Juvenile Detention Center where he submitted to a drug screen. Court documents show the screen returned positive results for both marijuana and cocaine.
A juvenile magistrate for Delaware Circuit Court 2 noted that Drummer was "beyond rehabilitation under the juvenile justice system," according to court documents.
"The Court finds that it is in the best interests of safety and welfare of the community that Cameron stand trial as an adult," the magistrate wrote.
Court documents show that Drummer's bond has been set to $215,000.
