Update: 7:29 AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Fire Department reported that the fire involved an old lumberyard with three buildings and one home affected in the area. According to AFD, no one was home during the fire and the residence are being assisted by Red Cross. AFD officials said the downtown power outage was caused by a blown transformer in the area. Xcel Energy crews are working to restore power to the area and Atmos Energy has shut off gas to affected buildings. The fire department said more than one building is burning and several walls have collapsed.
