AUSTIN (KXAN) -- At least four officers were shot after San Antonio police responded to a suicide call Wednesday night, SAPD Police Chief Bill McManus said on social media. SAPD responded to the call near the area of Stone Oak Parkway and Loop 1604, where police said the scene was still active around 9:30 p.m. McManus said around 10 p.m. that SWAT was working to the detain the suspect, who was described as a male in his 40s. Officers first responded to the call of a suicide in progress, and the first officer was on the scene after a family member called police, according to SAPD. All four officers were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said those officers had four to eight years with the department. The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) said on social media four officers were in the hospital receiving medical treatment after being shot by the suspect. No other details were available on Wednesday.
