Youth Support Specialist charged with rape, accused of having inappropriate relationship with detainee in Rush

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A 35-year-old Rochester woman accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old held in a Rush youth center now faces a felony rape charge, New York State Police announced Wednesday.
According to troopers, Jerica J. Costich was arrested and charged with third-degree rape, a Class-E felony, over allegations she "engaged in sexual activity" with an 18-year-old detainee at the Industry Residential Center while was working there as a Youth Support Specialist.
The Rush center houses teens convicted of non-violent crimes.
Police: Rochester officer accused of sexual abuse on paid leave
Costich was taken to Rush Town Court for arraignment and later released. She's expected back in court Feb. 2. An Order of Protection was issued for the victim.
